What should you budget for in addition to €1 800?
The service package covers document assistance and practical support. The course fee covers tuition. Living in Germany, travel and official fees are calculated separately.
Our service includes help looking for accommodation. Include rent, utility costs and the deposit requested by the landlord in your own budget.

- Before paying, clarify in writing which third-party charges are included in your agreement, such as notarisation, translations, textbooks or examinations.

Who is a language course visa for?
This route is for people wishing to attend an intensive, in-person German language course in Germany. Classes generally need to take place daily, with at least 18 teaching hours a week. Evening-only or weekend-only courses are not sufficient.
Depending on the course duration, a residence permit may be issued for up to 12 months. If you already have a university or Ausbildung place, a different visa category may be appropriate for your purpose.

Key documents to prepare
- Course admission: location, duration, weekly teaching hours, in-person format and proof of payment.
- Educational documents, grades and evidence of your existing German language skills.
- If employed, documents relating to your employment; where necessary, confirmation of leave from work or studies.
- A CV and a motivation letter written and signed by you, with the required translations.

Working during your language course and options afterwards
Work during the course
A residence permit for a language course under §16f allows employed work for up to 20 hours a week. Check the conditions on your visa or residence permit before starting work.
Alman Visum helps you look for work. Your language skills, previous experience, commute and class timetable are taken into account. A start date and income cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Do not base your budget solely on future earnings: plan the funds needed to begin the course and live in Germany in advance.

Moving on to Ausbildung
You will need a specific Ausbildung place or training contract, the required language skills and financial means to cover living expenses. Level B1 is generally required; some occupations may require a higher level. We help with preparation and documents.
Switching to a residence permit for employment
You must meet the requirements of the chosen employment route. For example, the skilled worker route requires a specific job offer and a qualification recognised in Germany or considered comparable. An unskilled support job alone is not sufficient for this route.
Completing the course does not automatically authorise Ausbildung or employment. If the requirements are met, you can apply to change your purpose of residence in Germany. Clarify the process with your local Ausländerbehörde before your current permit expires. We help with preparation; the competent authority determines whether you may start the new activity.

What is the difference between €500 and €1 300?
€500 is the Alman Visum service package: documents, arrival reception, help finding accommodation and work, and preparation for your next steps. €1 300 is the tuition fee for three language course modules. Together, the two payments total €1 800.
Does €1 800 cover all costs?
This is the combined service and course fee. You need a separate budget for rent, a deposit, daily living costs, travel, insurance and official fees. The financial means requirement must also be met separately.
Do three modules mean three months or A1, A2 and B1?
The number of modules alone does not determine the length of study or final language level. Levels, the duration of each module and the timetable depend on the selected course programme. We clarify the details of your particular programme before enrolment.
Do you guarantee an apartment and a job in advance?
The package includes help finding an apartment and work. Results depend on available offers, your budget, language level and the landlord's or employer's decision. It is helpful to start planning accommodation as early as possible, before arrival.
Is help switching to Ausbildung or employment after the course included?
Yes, this support is included in the €500 service package. We help you prepare for an appropriate route and identify the required documents. The relevant conditions must be met and permission obtained from the competent authority.
Can I start with an online course?
